The retail price of a smartphone does not always reflect its real cost: the gap between these figures can be both insignificant and multiple. Counterpoint Components analysts have studied the structure of the flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and published a detailed price list for all its components.
According to Counterpoint Components, the total cost of all components used in the Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G is $ 468. The most expensive part of the device turned out to be the X55 5G modem, which costs the South Korean company $ 97.2. The second line was taken by a 6.9-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz with a purchase price of $ 91.5.
The five most expensive elements of the flagship also included the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor ($ 57), the main camera module consisting of three 12-megapixel sensors ($ 60.3), as well as RAM and flash memory for a total of $ 61.5. Taking into account the costs of testing and adjustment, additional accessories such as a stylus, charger, and software, the estimated cost of the Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, according to analysts, is $ 548.
In addition, the researchers provided a list of companies whose components are installed in the smartphone. The first three lines went to Samsung, Qualcomm, and Largan Precision. In total, the gadget uses elements that are produced by 22 companies.
The retail price of the smartphone is $ 1299. At the same time, experts called it justified, noting the gadget as one of the most advanced on the market in terms of technology.
